Why We Call It The Goddard

Named after the Goddard Hotel, built in 1907 from the brick shell of the Plateau Hotel (which burned in the 1905 fire). It anchored the southern end of the Hot Springs strip for a century before being demolished in 2007. The name honors a building that survived one disaster and served this town for generations.
