It’s officially fall at the Creek Street Lofts! Time to put out some fall decorations on the patio and in the shared spaces inside. Fall is always my favorite season in Hot Springs: nature is lush, the flowerbeds at Creek have filled in completely (those 15 purple potato vines have taken “filling in” to the extreme), the mornings and evenings are milder in temperature, and the surrounding forests of hardwood trees promise to begin their autumn show soon.
I’ve been waiting for the local grocery stores to display their specialty pumpkins, the crazy shaped, warty ones. I like to add those to the traditional orange pumpkins with different hues stacked on each other in a tower. But it takes some searching in the cardboard bins to find the ones with a nice flat top for stacking! So lots of pumpkins on the patio. When I first looked at this abandoned building with my son, the owner, it was the porch that sold me. It had a caved-in floor at the time, but the potential for a large, wonderful, breezy, gathering place was evident. I’ve met quite a few guests on the porch the last two years as I’ve watered and planted, and the porch and game room get rave reviews!
