The Baptist is almost 1,100 square feet, with a king bedroom and an open kitchen with lots of counter space and barstools. The spacious living room, with an extremely comfortable oversized couch and sitting area, opens to a private patio overlooking Hot Springs Creek—bringing fresh air into the space and making it easy to enjoy coffee outside or unwind by the creek.
Named after the National Baptist Hotel, built in 1923 as the center of African American culture in Hot Springs, this hotel, bathhouse, and performance venue hosted many great Negro League players and entertainers who visited the city. Among them was famed entertainer Bill “Bojangles” Robinson. It was a place where Black travelers could experience luxury and respect during segregation.
